Neutral Feelings, But Ultimately a Waste of What Little Money I Have.
The last time I bought something from Everlane was around the time it was first launching as a store. Circa. . . 2011/2012? They had very few items to choose from and didn't even have store fronts at the time (just pop-ups in SF and NYC). I loved the t-shirt I'd purchased, but never really had the money after that to afford their items. I still don't. [Cons] I was thinking it would be worth the investment, especially if I could get a few heavy weight t-shirts on sale. Unfortunately, it was a waste of my money. I figured I'd need mediums, because I just tried some small t-shirts from J Crew that were too small. (I'm 5'10", lanky, and perpetually between sizes. ) I guess it's the relaxed fit, but these Everlane shirts are quite boxy. I get it's the style right now, but that style looks baggy and unkempt on me. The neck holes are not only quite large (despite my fairly thick neck, roughly 15"), but the collars are laying wonky on all three shirts I bought--at first wash and thereafter. And yes, I wash them cold and dry on extra low. [Pros] On the plus side, the material is nice. Not the softest, but it's refreshing when all the t-shirts these days are so light and soft you forget you're wearing one. I like feeling a shirt on my body. And while the collar is too generously sized, the structure and shape of the shoulder and neck area is nicely designed to fit on a body. All in all, I guess I should have gotten a small and maybe I'd be happier. I wasn't sure how much they'd shrink if they accidentally ended up in a warm wash, but I'd say they haven't at all. So if you're between sizes, don't expect much shrinkage. The last thing I'll say in favor of the shirts is that the length from shoulder to below the waste is perfect. Hits pretty much right in the middle of the fly on my pants.
